Biography

Eddie Bradford serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Arkansas Foundation, Inc. He retired as president and CEO of Northwest Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institution (NARTI) in October 2000, after holding that position for 13 years. A native Arkansan, he was born in Little Rock and attended the University of Arkansas where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1955 and completed work for a master’s degree in Educational Administration in 1956. While at the University of Arkansas he was active in many organizations; he served as President of the senior class of 1955 and was also an All-Southwest Conference player on the Razorback football team. He received a master’s degree in Hospital Administration from Baylor University in 1968 and has worked virtually all of his adult life in the medical environment beginning his career in the U.S. Army and retiring a full colonel after 29 years of service. Throughout his career, Mr. Bradford has worked in many different areas of hospital management and has served as administrator of major Army hospitals in Georgia, Colorado and Korea. He came to NARTI from Washington Regional Medical Center where he served as assistant administrator for six years. He belongs to several professional hospital and medical organizations and other service-oriented organizations. In 1992 Mr. Bradford received the "Outstanding President’s Award" for Mid-America from the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. In 1996 he received "The Distinguished American Award" from the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. He is a member of the Razorback Hall of Honor Class of 1998. He is currently a member of the Univ. of Arkansas Alumni Association and serves as Chairman of the Scholarship Committee.
