Biography

Executive Vice President and Chief Transition Officer Willie Inazu chairs the Operations Transition Advisory Team and the Information Technology Transition Advisory Team, which are composed of TriWest corporate leaders responsible for the successful execution of various start-up plans for the new West Region contract.

Mr. Inazu works with the President & CEO and the Executive Vice President & COO to guide policy development, manage daily operations, oversee contract compliance, direct sound financial decision-making and guide the West Region start-up. Mr. Inazu previously served as vice president for Contract Transition, preparing TriWest for its migration from the 16-state TRICARE Central Region contract to the 21-state TRICARE West Region contract.

Mr. Inazu joined TriWest in July 1996 as the Executive Director of Region 8. He has worked with the military health system for more than 37 years. Prior to joining TriWest, he served as vice president, Operations, for Physician Corporation of America-Military Programs. On active duty, Mr. Inazu served as deputy commander for Administration, Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson; deputy commander for Administration, Keller Army Hospital, West Point; executive officer, Tripler Army Medical Center; Commander, 1st Forward Support Battalion, Fort Lewis; chief, Clinical Support Division, Letterman Army Medical Center; and human resources officer, Office of the Army Surgeon General. Mr. Inazu holds a master’s degree in health care administration from Baylor University.
