Biography

Colonel Robert (Jim) Heckert, Jr. served as Deputy Commander for Administration Walter Reed Health Care System (WRHCS) A native of New Martinsville, West Virginia, he obtained his Masters of Education from the University of Southern California and Health Administration from Baylor University. He attended the Interagency Institute for Federal Health Care Executives, Armed Forces Staff College and Command and General Staff College.

Colonel Heckert entered the Army in 1971 and was commissioned in the Medical Service Corps. His previous assignments include:

* Chief of Staff, North Atlantic Regional Medical Command
* Chief, Plans, Tricare Region 1
* Deputy Commander for Administration at the 95th CSH, Heidelberg, Germany
* Director, 45th Field Hospital, Vicenza Italy
* Directorate of Medical Activities Administration, Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Order of Military Medical Merit. Colonel Heckert is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
