January, 2000 Welcome to the New Millenium. Another major milestone. Assuming no major problems with Y2K, we have more opportunities to challenge ourselves. Business news from Lebanon reports that John Schumacher (owner of Gnomon Copy) and wife Jeanne Childs (owner of Presentations) merged their businesses creating a one-stop business support center. The merger sounds like a good business plan for the couple who have a daughter, Lauren Beth. Bill Lamb from Annapolis, MD is operating a buyers-only real estate business. Oldest son Will is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Bill and wife Jenny went to Scotland for Will's wedding in the summer. Gary Rubus in Albuquerque, NM, retired as a one star general from the Air Force after 31+ years. Lockheed Martin Astronautics was looking for help with their Russian programs, so Gary reports being a part-time telecommuter between Albuquerque, Denver, and Moscow. Pete Means in Simi Valley, CA is having a ball running his own software firm NovaStor. Still running marathons! Beirne Lovely is still a partner at Goodwin, Procter, & Hoar LLP in Boston where he has been hanging out since 1976. He is primarily a corporate/securities/financing type. Beirne and wife Joan are still going strong. Kristen (Middlebury '95) is teaching in Milton Public Schools and Michelle (UVM '97) is the corporate concierge at the Fairmount Copley Plaza in Boston. Dave (Bowdoin '99) finished a terrific basketball career with Bowdoin and Greg is a sophomore at Bowdoin.
