March, 2000. Bob Fagan was elected chairman of the board of TECO, the Tampa-based energy company. Prior to joining TECO Energy, he had served as president of PP&L Global Inc., in Fairfax, Va., since 1994. Bob served as an officer in the Navy, assigned to Vice Admiral Rickover’s staff with responsibility for the design, procurement, and maintenance of large primary plant components for naval nuclear-powered ships. Bob holds a B.A. degree in engineering science and M.E. degree in chemical engineering. He is married to Cynthia Zimmerman. News from American General in Houston, Texas notes that Rick Geissinger has been promoted to vice chairman and group executive of consumer finance. Rick has served as president and chief executive officer of American General since 1995. Previously, he served as president and CEO of American General Mortgage and Land Development Inc. Prior to joining the company in 1994, he was executive vice president of Daiwa Securities. He previously had spent 21 years with Chase Manhattan Bank. A native of Huntingdon, PA, Rick received his B.A. in economics and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1969. Charlie Hoeveler in Kentfield, California is still active in Grass Court Tennis championships. From 1993 to 1997, Charlie and elder son Charles, Jr. owned the National father-son championships. In 1998 USTA Men's National Final Rankings, the team was ranked second. Now younger son Justin is teamed with dad in the competitions. Charlie runs U.S. Sports Development Company, which is the world's largest operator of sports camps, with over 25,000 students annually. Charlie picked up an M.B.A. from Stanford in 1969. Paul Klungness in Dallas, Texas provided an update. Having spent most of his working life in ice cream street vending business in Syracuse and Rochester, NY, Paul has spent the last 15 years in Texas. He decided to try teaching math in secondary schools. Paul noted not being able to understand kids who do not want to learn or work (a common problem for many educators). A note from Paul Moore (assistant manager at Thayer during our time) brings greetings to the '67 class. Paul retired from Dartmouth in 1987 and now lives in New London, home of Colby Jr. College.
