May, 2000. Major General Earl Wynn Mabry II, M.D., the commander of the 59th Medical Wing, Wilford Hall at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX met with a group of students from the U.S. Army-Baylor University Graduate Program in Healthcare Administration (my students). Wynn shared his personal insights into what qualities are necessary to be a military healthcare executive. It was an excellent blend of military history, leadership traits, personal experiences, and insights. It is noteworthy when a senior leader takes the time to teach and develop future military medical leaders. I was proud of our classmate! Well done Wynn! Allen H.
