May/June 2009. Wayne Beyer in DC was reappointed by the Secretary of Labor as a judge on the Administrative Review Board. Though not assured of reappointment with the new administration, between six years as an administrative appeals judge and one year as a Presidential appointee at the Federal Labor Relations Authority, he has had a good run. Philip Curtis in Atlanta wrote he was installed as the Commandant of the Old Guard BN of the Gate City Guard. Pretty heady stuff for a former 1st LT Army Reserves, Signal Corps officer. Phil continues as a Partner with the Executive Search firm of Matteson Partners with specialties in real estate, law, and general corporate. In addition, he teaches a graduate level real estate course for Georgia State University. Using LinkedIn, I caught up with Erik Joh in Boynton Beach, Florida. While mainly practicing law, Erik does a lot of work in the charitable area from managing foundations, speaking on governance issues, and fundraising. He referees football games as well (now for 34 seasons). Robert Span in Los Angeles announced that after 33 years, he left the global mega-law firm mother ship to start his own firm (Steinbrecher & Span LLP). Bob will focus on business and employment litigation; sounds like a brave new adventure. Good luck with the challenges! Try reaching me with LinkedIn; it adds more news. Keep me posted.
