November/December, 2001. Recall the 35th Reunion will be October 17-20, 2002. Highlights are listed on the Class web page. Bruce Pacht is the Reunion Chairman. Come join us. Joseph D. Alviani has joined ML Strategies as the senior vice president of Government Relations. Prior to joining ML Strategies, Joe served as the President of the Massachusetts Technology Park Corporation, since April, 1994. A former Massachusetts Secretary of Economic Affairs (1985-89), he oversaw the restructuring of MTPC’s mission and led the organization to take a more direct and active role in the state’s economic development. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Joe is a member of the Bar in Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has successfully completed both the New York and Boston marathons, volunteers his time with the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, Students Against Destructive Decisions and the Judge Baker Children’s Center, and lives in Newton, MA with his wife and four children. Bob Sanner in San Francisco, CA writes life is pretty much as depicted in the 25th Reunion book: same address, job, wife, and kids. His oldest son Daniel '02 wants to work on Wall Street and recently finished an internship at JP Morgan. Bob picked up an M.B.A. from Stanford University (1971) and has lived in the Palo Alto/San Francisco area since with wife Barbara Moor and three children. He served as Dartmouth's volunteer District Enrollment Director from 1991-98 (awarded DED of the Year in 1998). Bob remarked that two '67 roommates died (Mike Vaccaro in 1996 and Keith Hodge in 2001) and at the '97 reunion he had sat with Bill Robb who died 2000). Another '67 roommate, Dick Curtis, has put in 30 years federal service with Uncle Sam. Bob shared lots of news of other classmates which I will pass on in future columns. With regret, have several obituaries to report. Keith Richard Hodge of Pickerington, OH died in February. A mathematics major, Keith played squash and enjoyed the Flying Club at school. For five years, he co-owned with his wife, Huckleberry's Homemade Ice Cream Shop in Provicetown, MA. Keith taught mathematics for several years at Virginia Polytech Institute. For the past 13 years, he worked at Lucent Technologies as a software developer. Keith enjoyed running and playing tennis. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia, and son Charles. John Saunders Toomey of Stamford, CT died in April. An economics major, he was a brother of Alpha Theta. John worked most of his career for Citibank in NYC in corporate customer-related functions. He was a portfolio manager for corporate lending. John is survived by his daughters Christiana '04 and Marissa. Our sincerest regrets to the families at their loses.
