Peter Golenbock, in St. Petersburg, FA, is still actively writing sports books. He published a children's book about Hank Aaron's quest to break Babe Ruth's home run record and another (The Last Lap) about famous NASCAR drivers who died at the wheel. Next spring an oral history of the New York Mets (Amazin') will be published. After graduating from New York University law school in 1970, Pete went into the hotel business for two years providing housing for college students in New York City. After working as a lawyer in a personal injury firm for eight weeks, in July of 1972 he was hired to work in the legal department of Prentice-Hall Inc., Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. He soon changed to writing sports books. Since 1975, he has written some of sports' most important books, including five New York Times best sellers. Pete moved from Ridgefield, CT to St. Petersburg in 1989 to write about the Senior Professional Baseball League. Pete remarks he still can't believe Mickey Beard is no longer with us; Mickey was certainly the most visible athlete from our class. If any classmate should arrive in St. Petersburg, Pete would be glad to hear from you. John Lewis of Durham, NH began his tradition of public service with practicing law for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from 1974-76, chairman of the State Board of Education in 1997, and has been sworn in as a Superior Court judge in New Hampshire. John serves on the board of directors for Lamprey Health Care and Kids Voting. He earned his law degree from Columbia in 1973. He was a Fulbright scholar and spent a year at the Institut D'Etude Politique in Grenoble, France. John and wife Cindy have three children: Michael, David, and Madeline.
