The treatment after the stroke is a mixture called caffeinol, consisting of the amount of caffeine found in one or two strong cups of coffee and the amount of alcohol in one cocktail (sounds like Irish coffee). Jim received his training at the Universities of Virginia, Colorado, and the Massachusetts General Hospital. He joined the University of Texas Houston Medical School faculty in 1979.
