Jan/Feb 2004. Head Agent David Lowenstein notes the Class did an outstanding job raising funds for the College. Almost 50% of the Class contributed. Your continued financial support is appreciated. The Mini Reunion in the Washington Metropolitan Area in October was organized by John Isaacs and Bob Burka. Look for details in the future. Am sad to report that Jeffrey David Lambert Wortman Wortman of New York suffered and subsequently died from a massive heart attack on August 23, while competing in the Great Hudson River Swim. Jeff transitioned his swimming from a means of rehabilitation from a prior heart attack to a mode of successful competition. Just before the Hudson River Swim, he placed third in 100-meter breaststroke, 4th in 200-meter breaststroke, and 8th in the 50-meter freestyle at the Masters Nationals Long Course Championships in the 55-59 age group category. Jeff was on the swim team and was passionate about saving the College's swimming and diving program when it was scheduled to be discontinued, a result of college-wide budget reductions. Jeff was an art dealer at Wortman Prints and Drawings in New York City for the past 25 years. Jeff could always be relied on for a ride to masters swimming meets. Even during the summer blackout he drove a car full of swimmers through the chaotic streets of New York to the Masters Nationals at Rutgers University. Jeff loved swimming and died doing what he loved. Our sympathies to his parents Marilyn L. and Dr. Harry C. Wortman, and brother, Dr. Stephen Wortman.
