September, 1999. Don Bergman, M.D. of New York, NY has been chosen as secretary of the American Assocation of Clinical Endocrinologists. In private practice in New York City, Don graduated from Jefferson Medical School and completed a residency and endocrine fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is board certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism. Robert Charles Glennon of Lake Placid was appointed to lead the New York state attorney general's Plattsburg regional office. Bob worked for the Adirondack Park Agency from 1974 serving as counsel, associate counsel, and executive director (1988 to 1995). He graduated from Albany Law School in 1970. Jim Grotta, M.D. of Houston is director of Hermann Hospital's stroke program and professor of neurology at the University of Texas-Houston Medical School. Jim graduated from University of Virginia Medical School and completed a fellowsip in cerebral blood flow at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is chairman of the International Stroke Committee of the American Medical Association and has received the William H. Feinberg Award for excellence in clinical stroke work. David W. Russell, a partner in the Indianapolis law firm of Johnson, Smith, Pence, and associates, published an article on emerging issues in electronic commerce. He concentrates his practice in the areas of complex business and banking transactions and technologies and handling international and domestic business. An adjunct faculty member of Indiana University School of Business, Dave has the MBA from Tuck and a JD from Northwestern University School of Law. Bill Bogardus wrote his sister-in-law bumped into Andrew Weiss. Recall Andy had been the Class Poet. The news noted Andy picked up the M.A. in English from University of Wisconsin at Madison, taught for awhile, earned a JD from Boston College Law School, practiced and taught law at Tufts, then turned to optometry (following his father and grandfather). He is currently working at Great Road Optical in Acton, MA. At the June commencement, Jerry J. Zaks of New York City was awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree. Jerry earned the MFA from Smith College in 1969. Active in theater, Jerry works with Jujamcyn Theaters in New York, NY as the resident director (since 1990). He served as resident director at Lincoln Center Theatre from 1986 to 1990 and is a founding member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre. For directing, Jerry has received four Tonys, four Drama Desks, two Outer Critics Circle Awards, an Obie, a Drama-Logue, and an NAACP Image Award nomination. He is the 1994 recipient of the George Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. Married to actress Jill P. Rose, they have two daughters at the Brearley School. Jerry directed a musical review performed by the Brearley students and a high powered cast including Marlo Thomas, Swoosie Kurtz, and Phylicia Rashad.
