December, 1999 Stuart Belkin and spouse Maureen Dewan were recognized as the couple of the year by Congregation Beth El in Fairfield, CT. After Dartmouth, Stuart graduated from Harvard Medical School, then took an orthopedic residency at Tufts University. He served as an orthopedist at the New England Medical Center Hospital until moving to Connecticut in 1981. He works as an orthopedist in private practice with the Sports Medicine Center with offices in Fairfield and Trumbull. Darby Bradley, President of the Vermont Land Trust, was selected to receive an Environmental Merit Award from the regional office of the Environmental Protection Agency. The award is in recognition of environmental protection efforts by Darby and the Vermont Land Trust. Darby grew up in New Hampshire. After Dartmouth, he received a law degree from University of Washington Law School in 1972. He joined the Land Trust as counsel in 1981 and has served as its president since 1990. In addition, the Burlington Free Press Editorial Board chose Darby as the Vermonter of the Year. He lives in Calais, VT. Dick Clapp is at the Boston University School of Public Health Environmental Health Department as a full-time faculty member since 1993. His research interests include the health effects of dioxin and Agent Orange, the health effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and other environmental exposures to toxic chemicals. Dick received his MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1974. In the 1970's he worked in community and environmental health as Executive Director of the Lynn Community Health and Counseling Center and Director of the Massachusetts Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, in the Department of Public Health. In 1980, he was hired to establish the Massachusetts Cancer Registry, in the Department of Public Health. He served as Director until 1989, and during this time he completed his doctorate in Epidemiology and was awarded a D.Sc. Degree from B.U. School of Public Health in 1989. For the past nine years, he has worked at the JSI Center for Environmental Health Studies, first as its Director, and more recently as Consultant. Tom Maremaa has been working at Apple Computer, Inc. as a senior technical writer for the past four years. He writes programmer-level documentation for Apple QuickTime developers. His third computer book "QuickTime for Java" was just published. Tom continues writing fiction in his spare time. He is married to the former Mimi Ameri. They live in the heart of Silicon Valley in Mountain View, CA.
