Trademark Practice Summary
Needle & Rosenberg’s practice is dedicated exclusively to intellectual property law. With that exclusive focus, we offer our trademark clients a unique blend of big firm resources, expertise and sophistication with the flexibility, understanding, economy and personal attention usually associated with smaller firms.
  • The Trademark Group leader is Allen Greenberg, a world-renowned trademark expert, particularly in the area of international trademark law. Mr. Greenberg was in the legal department of The Coca-Cola Company for over 20 years, where he spent periods as the Company’s Senior Trademark Counsel, Senior Litigation Counsel, Senior Marketing Counsel, General Counsel of Company Bottling Operations and as Assistant General Counsel. Most recently, he was a partner in the law firm of King & Spalding.

  • The recently created Greenberg Trademark Institute at Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire, is named in honor of Mr. Greenberg. The Institute is the first U.S.-based academic organization dedicated to the examination of current and anticipated issues in international trademark law. It is expected to serve as the epicenter of publication, discussion and debate on international trademark policy and legislation.

  • He has taught trademark law as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Emory University School of Law since 1989. Among his many honors, Allen was recently elected to a 3-year term as the United States Delegate to the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property. He is also Vice Chairman of the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce.

  • The firm represents numerous internationally recognized trademarks and service marks, including: COKE, CABBAGE PATCH KIDS, POPEYES, CHURCH'S, SEATTLE'S BEST COFFEE, CINNABON, HOOTERS, SUNTERRA, NESTEA and JAMAICA BLUE MOUNTAIN COFFEE. As a result, Needle & Rosenberg is heavily involved in all aspects of trademark practice, including domain name registration and enforcement, the selection of marks, domestic and international registration of marks, trademark infringement, oppositions, cancellations and trademark portfolio maintenance issues.

With intellectual property associates in more than 200 countries and literally thousands of U.S. registrations in our care, Needle & Rosenberg offers expert trademark services across all areas of this practice.
