Course Description

The class will focus on the health policies and delivery mechanisms within representative countries. International health organizations, programs, and other cooperative efforts are discussed. International issues concerning environmental health, health status, and health care activities are studied.

Course Objectives

- Discuss global trends and developments in the field of health care.
- Discuss national military health services systems and health sector management.
- Discuss the health delivery systems of industrialized countries such as United States of America, Germany, Canada, Sweden, United Kingdom, and Japan to include lessons learned.
- Discuss the health delivery systems of developed and developing countries.
- Discuss the financing of health services in various countries.
- Discuss international health statistics and policy.
