Andrew R. Weiss, J.D. Profile




 Andrew R. Weiss, J.D. is a lawyer with over 21 years' experience in the practice of law and dispute resolution. In addition to his legal training and experience, Mr. Weiss also has training in mediation and counseling, and an extensive background working with business owners, families, health care professionals, and nonprofit organizations. His background includes experience as a high school teacher, community mental health worker, small business manager, meditation teacher and spiritual counselor. He has taught law to undergraduates at Brandeis and Tufts Universities and is the Dean of Faculty of the New England School of Whole Health Education, where he teaches business law and ethics and counselor-client relationship management.

In 1987, Andrew began to develop and offer mindfulness=based conflict management services as a response to the growing need both in the legal community and among the general public. Over the years, Andrew has expanded his services while still maintaining his commitment to the creative mangement of conflict and stress and to the principles and practices of mindfulness as the basis of his work.

Andrew is a graduate of Dartmouth College (BA, 1967), University of Wisconsin at Madison (MA, 1968), and Boston College Law School (J.D., 1977). He received mediation training from Cherie Brown, director of the National Coalition Building Institute, and from CDR Associates of Boulder, Colorado. He is a member of the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution and the International Alliance of Holistic Lawyers. He is the author of Beginning Mindfulness: 8 Weeks of Living the Way of Awareness.
