Celtic and Folk
Our interest in Celtic music started with Steeleye Span, a group that was popular among SCA
people in the early and mid-80's. Damon, being the rampant completist that he is, began a diligent
search for all their albums. Some of these albums have since been replaced by CDs. Our interests
in this genre have also broadened over the years to include such artists as
Enya,
Clannad, Pentangle,
the Irish Rovers, and many more. We also catch the
Thistle & Shamrock
public radio program whenever we can.

Public Radio & Radio Drama
Damon got hooked on public radio mostly by accident. In 1991, working on the fifth floor of
an office building on the edge of town, he found that he had trouble tuning in his usual radio stations.
Unwilling to switch to country, tejano or heavy metal stations, he turned to KSTX as a last resort.
Both of us are now regular listeners. Like most public radio stations, our local station provides a
mixture of programming from American Public Radio and
National Public Radio, as well as programs produced by public radio organizations in
various states, including our own Texas Public Radio.
The folks at Minnesota Public Radio, for
example, bring us Garrison Keillor's
A Prairie Home Companion each weekend, and his
Writer's Almanac
every weekday.
